Epitalon (also known as Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide research compound (sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) originally derived from the natural pineal-gland peptide epithalamin. It was developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research use only.
Epitalon has been the subject of decades of published Russian and Western peptide research literature, with foundational work by Khavinson and colleagues investigating telomere-related and gene-expression research models. It is frequently studied alongside other short-chain regulatory peptides in cellular-ageing and chronobiology research contexts.
